Design portfolio
I've been a publication designer since I joined the staff of my high school's newspaper. From there, I went on to work for TCU's Daily Skiff newspaper and Image magazine. I subsequently did a short stint with the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, designing with the news, features and sports desks. As an educator, I used my layout and design skills to produce classroom materials, newsletters and other collateral.
Texas Academy of Biomedical Sciences
Tornado Alley newsletter
What began as a way to connect students to the school during pandemic lockdowns has developed into the family newsletter for Texas Academy of Biomedical Sciences.
Promotional materials
Much of my job entails marketing the school to new students.
Green B. Trimble Technical High School
Classroom materials
When I started at Trimble Tech, the French program had out-of-date textbooks and curricula that weren't designed for the school's student population. In the decade that followed, I wrote built five French courses, including hundreds of handouts and other documents not for just any student but for the ones in my classroom.
Branding
Trimble Tech is a historic campus near the city center of Fort Worth, but it lacked a consistent visual identity. To remedy this, I found some old logos and digitized them using Adobe Illustrator. These are still in use by the school and the district.
Fort Worth Star-Telegram
Although my work for the Star-Telegram was at the beginning of my career, I'm still proud of what I produced. Here are three examples from the Features section. I wrote the lead content on all three pages.
